Danny Vadasz Chief Executive Officer

Danny was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Health Issues Centre in November 2014. Prior to this he spent five years with Australian Conservation Foundation, Australia’s foremost environmental agency, as Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer/Director of Marketing.

With experience in business leadership, management, communications and marketing Danny has a long history in the health, corporate and not-for-profit sectors. He has worked extensively in health, environmental and social issues promotion, and in developing successful social enterprise initiatives.

Danny has a long and powerful background in community advocacy and is passionate about driving sustainable, positive change. Throughout his career he has demonstrated strong commitment to the consumer voice and to social justice.

He brings energy, knowledge and commitment to achieving better consumer health outcomes with and for consumers.

Kate Mohay Manager, Finance and Operations

Kate oversees the daily operations of our organisation. Kate is a qualified accountant and member of CPA Australia with a strong commercial background.

Tere Dawson Manager Training and Development

Tere has over a decade of experience in consumer engagement and participation practice and research. She has an extensive research and academic background, a Masters of Public Health, a Masters and PhD in sociology and anthropology and has published widely.

Using her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, she was instrumental in the development of our nationally accredited courses in consumer leadership and engagement. The courses aim to develop the capacity of consumers and the health sector to implement best practice consumer engagement.

Tere manages consultancy, research and tailored training for the health sector and community groups across Australia.

Zoe Austin-Crowe Senior Policy Advisor and Project Manager

Zoe started her career as an Occupational Therapist working in both private and public health services, in both Australia and the United Kingdom. Most recently, she worked in a policy role in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) roll out.

She has also worked the policy areas of advance care planning, chronic disease, care coordination and residential aged care. Her career has also included work in project management and as a clinician, covering health, disability and international development.

Zoe has managed health research projects and worked in international development for both Oxfam and as a volunteer in Ghana, West Africa.

Jess Friedman Administration and Project Support Officer

Jessica is an energetic and pro-active operator providing a full gamut of administrative skills to support projects across a range of areas.  With 19 years of executive support experience to senior roles, Jessica has worked across a range of industry sectors including small and private businesses, government, NFP, sole traders, consultancy groups, entertainment, hospitality and FMCG companies.

Jenny Carmuciano Trainer

With a background in learning and development, organisational development and coaching, Jenny has held a wide variety roles within local government, financial services, not-for-profit, manufacturing, professional services and the health care sector. Jenny has a Certificate IV in Training and assessment and has extensive experience in developing and delivering training across a variety of sectors.
