We developed a program to engage with consumers and community groups in the SMPCP catchment area.

We held a focus group with culturally and linguistically diverse communities on access to disability services.

We conducted an evaluation of five projects aimed to increase screening for cervical, breast and bowel cancer in culturally diverse communities.

A highlight of the second year of our empowering participation project was the opportunity to showcase the value of peer support in chronic disease care to health professionals.

We received a Health Conditions Support Grant from the Victorian Department of Health to empower chronic disease peer support group members to be more actively involved in their own health decisions.

We were engaged by Alfred Psychiatry to design a mentoring program for their Lead Consumer Consultant position.

The project was about facilitating a series of consultation sessions to understand service needs of mental health consumers and carers involved in the Partners in Recovery Program.

In 2011, Cancer Australia launched its National Framework for Consumer Involvement in Cancer Control (the Framework). Health Issues Centre was asked to develop a web-based practical toolkit to help people implement it.

We were asked to review Gippsland Regional Integrated Cancer Services' consumer engagement strategy and activities.

Doutta Galla Community Health Service had produced a booklet describing a newly launched model of care. They wanted to know if the booklet was user-friendly and if the language was appropriate to expected service users.

Inner North West Melbourne Medicare Local was interested in improving the service experience of consumers living with Type 2 diabetes.
