Peter Mac Consumer Register

Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is calling for consumers to join their Consumer Register.

What is the opportunity?

A Consumer Register is a group of interested people who can be drawn on to take part in a variety of activities at Peter Mac to ensure patient, carer and consumer feedback and opinions are represented within hospital decision-making processes.

What sort of activities can I be involved in?

Participation may involve becoming a member of a committee, taking part in working groups or cancer-specific projects, reviewing patient information, such as brochures, fact sheets, DVDs and website information, or sharing your views and experiences by participating in interviews and surveys.

What is the time commitment

Commitment levels vary depending on the role of the consumer and their availability. This may range from attending regular meetings, to occasionally reviewing patient related information via email. As this is a voluntary position, many of our consumers are involved in projects which they are able to do from home at a time that suits them.

How can I find out more about becoming a consumer in healthcare?

Health Issues Centre provides resources to support consumers who are involved or interested in becoming a consumer representative.  Their Getting Involved Toolkit provides information on how consumers can contribute to health service improvements. How do I apply?

If you are interested and would like to apply to join Peter Mac’s Consumer Register, please contact our Consumer Engagement Office on (03) 8559 7518 or email: for an application form.
