About the project

Grampians Integrated Cancer Service (GICS) recognises that cancer patients often describe their diagnoses like entering a new world. There are new terms, types of tests and different forms of treatment available.

For many, there is the added stress of not knowing what to expect or what information to trust.

GICS's project delivered a series of podcasts with content designed by consumers, for consumers. Danny Vadasz, CEO of Health Issues Centre, said that he is pleased “Grampians Integrated Cancer Service will be collaborating with the community to develop patient-centred content as it will help to strengthen relationships with consumers in smaller communities and disadvantaged groups.”

Grampians Integrated Cancer Service hopes that the podcast will provide listeners with reliable, important cancer information that is easily accessible.
