Learning from consumers: A video project to share experiences and improve service delivery
About the project
Swan Hill Health District identified an opportunity to improve service delivery by carefully sharing the personal stories of consumers.
Capturing the stories on video is an ideal way of ensuring that the experiences and voices of consumers are shared with integrity and clear intent.
The team at Swan Hill District Service is using the two videos as a tool to demonstrate to staff the impact they have on consumers. It is a powerful way to hear first-hand how the service is perceived by the people who depend on it.
The consumers who participated in the project were active and engage from the project design stage through to the approval of final cuts.
Ultimately, the project demonstrates there is an opportunity embrace and engage with consumers in order to learn and develop stronger partnerships with the community.
