Draft 2 of the NSQHS Standards released

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) started a review of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards in late 2014 with completion expected in 2017/18. The key deliverable for this review is version 2 of the NSQHS Standards.

Since late 2014, the Commission has spoken with health professionals, consumers, technical experts and jurisdictional representatives about their challenges and successes with the current version of the NSQHS Standards.

Based on the information gathered during these conversations and the latest evidence, a draft version 2 of the NSQHS Standards has now been developed.

How do I get involved?

Public consultation on the second draft of the NSQHS Standards is now open and feedback can be provided until Friday, 30 October 2015.

Your feedback will help ensure that the updated version of the Standards addresses:

  • key safety and quality issues in health care,
  • are easy to understand; and
  • applicable to you and your work.

You can have your say by providing written feedback or completing an online survey.

Online survey

There are two versions of the online survey:

  1. For consumers and consumer organisations, complete this survey
  2. For health service organisations, complete this survey
