Unfinished Business: National Mesh Implant Forum

The National Mesh Implant Forum will be held in Melbourne on Friday April 5, 2019, to consider all aspects of Australia’s mesh implant crisis. 

The event will bring together mesh injured consumers, carers, regulatory authorities, health officials, the Chair of the Senate Inquiry into mesh and consumer advocates to create solutions and bring about real change.

The forum will consider not only the impact of pelvic mesh and rectocele implants, but the emerging parallel crisis involving people who have received mesh implants for hernia treatment.

The Forum is proudly convened by the Health Issues Centre and Health Consumers NSW, Health Consumers Queensland, Health Consumers’ Council (WA), Health Consumers Alliance of South Australia, Health Care Consumers (ACT), Health Consumers Tasmania.

Registration is available both for live attendance at the Forum or through virtual attendance via live streaming via HERE

Tickets are $30 for mesh-injured consumers, $10 for live streaming and $120 for organisation representatives.

The one-day forum includes lunch and refreshments.

Whether you attend the event or not, we are inviting all mesh-injured people to record a 90 second video statement that may be aired on the day.  More details on this to come, including how to send the video to us, but check out our FAQ’s in the meantime.

On Thursday evening, April 5, we are screening the documentary “The Bleeding Edge”, a must-see film covering the $400 billion medical device industry in the US, and the emotionally powerful stories of people whose lives have been irrevocably harmed from implanted medical devices.
