Mentoring program for Alfred Psychiatry
What was the project about?
We were engaged by Alfred Psychiatry to design a mentoring program for their Lead Consumer Consultant position.
Who did we partner with?
Alfred Psychiatry and their Lead Consumer Consultant
How did we go about it?
We undertook a twelve month mentoring process to identify strategies and actions to support the role of the Lead Consumer Consultant.
What was achieved?
Through the mentoring process, we were able to identify that the Lead Consumer Consultant role needed to be better supported. We developed a suite of resources to support the work which included:
- a template to record and to respond to request
- a Request for Service Form
- a monthly calendar of committee meetings and projects commitment
- a checklist to facilitate the contribution that consumer consultants make when attending internal and external committee meetings
- guidelines outlining the relationship between the ‘consumer consultant’ and the ‘consumer educator’
- a communication strategy
When did we do the project?
June 2013 - July 2014
