What is the role?
Monash Health seeks consumer representatives for their Community Advisory Committee. This committee reports to the Monash Health Board. Committee members provide advice in relation to the integration of consumer, carer and community views into all levels of strategy, operations, planning and policy development. They provide strategic advice on priority areas and issues from a consumer, carer and community perspective.
What skills, experience and interests do Monash seek?
Ideally you’ll have one or all of the following:
- Ability to provide multicultural consumer, carer or community perspectives
- Ability to provide Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander consumer, carer or community perspectives
- Strong community networks and sound understanding of local or regional issues
- Ability to reflect the perspectives of the communities served by Monash Health at a strategic level

What is the time commitment?
There are monthly, 1.5 hour meetings held on a Wednesday night at the Monash Medical Centre, 246 Clayton Road, Victoria.
The appointment will be for a three (3) year term and requires attendance at monthly evening meetings with some reading of committee papers in between.
What else should I know about the committee?
This is an existing committee that meets face-to-face. There will be reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses, administrative support and orientation/induction.
How will appointments be made?
Community Advisory Committee members are appointed by the Monash Health Board of Directors following written application and a formal interview process. Committee members are also required to undertake a police check and working with children check.
